Position Summary

The Voice Engineer is responsible for the support of the Global Data Solutions Data and Voice Networks globally. The individual must be qualified at all levels of LAN, WAN and Voice technologies.

The primary responsibility is to provide design, consulting and implementation and support services to the company’s customers.

This position will partner with members of the designated consulting and engineering teams as well as operate with a high degree of independence.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

Supervise support team responsible for Voice equipment such as Cisco gateways, IP phones, CME, CUE, and Call Manager equipment in coordination with Project, Engineering, and Customer teams.

Configuring, Testing, Installation, Troubleshooting of global call routing and general network connectivity in coordination with Project, Engineering, and Customer teams.

Install, configure and manage Cisco Call Manager, CME and Unity configurations.

Document all voice designs, configurations, and network change requests to maintain real time accountability for Global Operations Center.

Standardize global design and documentation of data and voice globally and perform software upgrades on existing Cisco Voice environment.

Flexible schedule and sense of urgency to support escalations that impact business operations and client services.

Assist clients in the daily maintenance of voice infrastructure. Serves as tier 2 and / or tier 3 resource for trouble tickets and work orders for voice networks and related network infrastructure devices.

Lead and mentor junior technicians on troubleshooting Global Data Solutions Voice systems.

Manage voice networking relationships and work with vendors to escalate issues when appropriate.

Review voice monitoring stats and confirm SLAs are being obtained with carriers.

Available after hours and weekends as needed and willing to work on-call rotation.

Configure and maintain SRST, QoS, Voice Routing Protocols and Voice Gateways.

Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to work well in a team or individually.

Continuously strive to learn new technology and product solutions required for Projects and Services.

Promote positive work environment attitude and Promote customer service.

Promote safety in workplace that aligns with Oceaneering’s policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED

5+ years working on Cisco Voice systems.

5+ years experience directly working with customer and client technical teams.

Minimum 5+ years in IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting and routing.

Minimum 5+ years designing global call routing with on Cisco VG, CME, CUE, and CCM.

Minimum CCNA, CCNA Voice / CCNP Voice.

ITIL V3 Foundation Certified.

Bachelor Degree preferred.

DESIRED

TCP / IP network protocols following the OSI model.

QOS policies across the Enterprise for Data, Voice and Video solutions.

Experience on Cisco ASR’s, Nexus, Catalyst 6500’s, 2960’s, 2900 ISR, 4000 ISR, 819, 829, 3560, ASA and WISM product lines.

Routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, RIPv2, OSPF, PFRv3 and Static routing protocols while using IPSLA.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Troubleshooting software such as Solarwinds, Wireshark, and packet tracers

DNS resolution

Routing over VSAT, 4G LTE, WiMAX, Metro-ethernet, and fiber

Switching technology fundamentals

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
  • Work surface is stable (flat)
  • You may have to travel offshore and required trainings will be provided.
