Firmwide Risk Management is overseen and managed on an enterprise-wide basis. The Firm’s risk management governance and oversite framework involves understanding drivers of risks, types of risks, and impacts of risks.
Within the broader Risk organization, Wholesale Risk Chief Data Office (WR CDO), in partnership with Firm wide Data Management (FDM), CDOs, Business, Operations, and Technology stakeholders, focuses on improving the quality, integrity, and reliability of Risk’s critical data, through the design, implementation and ownership of a comprehensive data management strategy.
The team is looking for an enthusiastic individual join the team as an Associate. This position will report to WR CDO Chief Operating Officer and will focus on the following practice areas :
1. Data Governance Policy and Standards Implementation-support transformational, multi-year Data Governance Policy and Standards Implementation program across Wholesale Risk organization
2. WR CDO Communication Strategy support execution of WR CDO communication strategy across variety of communication channels within the team and across WR CDO stakeholders
3. Business management- support efforts to promote efficient, well documented and controlled processes
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Develop, manage and monitor project plans
Monitor progress against established goals and milestones
Identify and escalate risks, issues and dependencies impacting project execution
Provide status updates to stakeholders and escalate risks / issues to leadership as needed
Support WR CDO communication strategy
Prepare and deliver effective presentations and updates to the team, leadership and stakeholders
Maintaining strong working relationships with WR CDO stakeholders : Risk Managers, Control Managers, Data Quality leads, Data Management leads, Firmwide Governance teams, line of business partners, other CDO groups, Data Content Owners, Operations and Reporting
Identify, evaluate and drive operational improvements across WR CDO team
Develop and maintain process and control documentation (e.g., standard operating procedures, process flows, data flows)
Actively participate and contribute to working groups and forums
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Operations required
3 5 years of experience in finance, reporting, risk or data management experience
Advisory or consulting in Risk, Finance, Data or Technology experience
Project management, including scope, timing, resource allocation, and performance
Experience providing regular status updates, monitoring project performance and managing stakeholder relationships
Experience using business intelligence, data visualization and project management tools
Business analysis experience
Data management experience
Risk management experience (preferably with Market, Credit, Principal, Country, Model risks)
Communication / Influence
Excellent ability to quickly learn and assimilate business and technical knowledge, and confidently speak about these processes
A developed leadership presence capable of effective messaging of complex systems and processes to junior team members and upper management alike
Proven ability to work across diverse groups, build consensus and execute the agreed plans
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently in a flexible, fast paced environment
Must be detail oriented, highly responsible and able to work with tight deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; sound and independent judgment
Overall strong desktop skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools / applications
Understanding of concepts and hands-on experience working with relational databases, SQL, and BI tools
Experience with tools such as Qlikview, Alteryx, Tableau is a plus
Strong data analysis and interpretation skills; analyzing data with respect to corresponding business and technology processes;
comfortable working with large quantities of data
