  • risk management analyses, and the presentation of alternatives. The role operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and is responsible for FOAA financial accounting and controllership.

    This individual will be a strong and inspirational leader to raise the bar on hiring, developing and retaining the best talent to continue to build our world class FOAA projects team.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

    Lead, manage and develop the FOAA project automation team which is comprised of highly proficient accounting professionals as well as forward leaning technologists including business intelligence engineers, product managers, and process redesign professionals.

    Partner with FinOps, FOAA, and FinTech leaders to deliver accounting automation and process redesign projects. Drive process improvements throughout each organization by leveraging Lean or Six Sigma principles

    Eliminate waste and reduce variations in service and design processes and improve overall reconciliation quality and efficiency.

    You must have the ability to structure problems, perform analysis, and present to senior executives. Supporting business partners at Amazon requires the ability to dissent, while building trust.

    Liaise between FinOps and Central Accounting, and FOAA Global Process Owners in regards to operational accounting matters, as well as internal controls over financial reconciliations and analysis.

    Must be able to articulate how new processes and system automation impact the current state ecosystem.

    Actively engage with the business and technology teams on new business initiatives, as well as significant IT projects and process changes, to drive accounting automation and control requirements and testing.

    Lead automation and planning initiatives and evaluate and direct resources accordingly this will include project evaluations - including structuring the problem, performing analysis, and presenting options to senior executives.

    Optimize accounting & reporting processes for speed, agility and insight through automation and process redesign.

    Create a learn by doing environment by engaging with the finance operations teams to promote and encourage continued customer focus.

    Provide direction and mentoring to team members through exceptional people management skills including continual feedback, development, and coaching.

    Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Master Degree in Finance

    10+ years of large corporation accounting and related ERP systems experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility

    Six Sigma Black Belt certification or commensurate experience with proven track record of driving a culture of continuous process improvement.

    A proven track record of sound decision-making, taking ownership and delivering results

    A people leader who has experience hiring and developing world-class global teams and scaling the team to meet business needs

    Demonstrated experience solving multiple, complex operational and technical accounting challenges

    Demonstrated experience working in a matrix environment, influencing others to achieve goals and successfully driving milestone-driven projects

    Excellent analytical skills and the ability to get into the details while also seeing and understanding the big picture

    Results-oriented, highly energetic, dynamic individual with hands-on mentality

    Ability to engage with staff at all levels of the organization

    Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer focused, professional demeanor

    Preferred qualifications

    Degree in Accounting, or CPA (or equivalent)

    MBA, MS in Accounting

    Operational accounting experience with one or more Fortune 500 companies

    MS in Finance or other quantitative areas preferred

    Experience working in a fast paced environment and / or technology business

    Advanced Excel skills and strong understanding of financial reporting and data mining tools (Cognos, Essbase, SQL, etc.), Machine Learning

    Experience working with big data sets and gleaming insights through rigorous analysis,
