Reporting to the Sr. Director in Accounting, we’re currently seeking a Manager to support our team’s strategy, growth, process excellence and innovation.
We are currently seeking a highly effective professional with a passion and proven track record for success in financial process re-engineering, systems architecture, innovation through technology, and operational transformation.
This role requires strong business acumen, and the ability to apply that business knowledge and know-how into the very systems, process or reporting solutions that are proposed and delivered.
Expectations are high with regards to possessing outstanding communication, collaboration and influencing skills. This Manager will be working on project initiatives that may require a global view and a clear understanding of how to best collaborate with our Accounting counterparts to lead to optimal solutions.
This role will also help the team with the Controller’s project portfolio management, prioritization and understanding project dependencies.
The role will be responsible for driving the full lifecycle of project delivery, from requirements definition through implementation and roll out, working with a cross functional team of business and technical resources.
This person will ultimately be accountable for the success of the project and work closely with the business clients of the project to ensure objectives are delivered as expected.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manage Project Portfolio and Resource Management
Help oversee project portfolio prioritization within Controllership, orchestrate, prioritize and analyze the potential value of many projects in a portfolio
Help set the processes and standards for the portfolio management
Assist with the selection of project resources
Give portfolio and resource updates to Controllers Leadership Team
Promote adoption of our teams preferred tools and systems
Project Delivery Lead
Contribute to short, medium and long-term strategic initiatives simultaneously that drive transformation within Corporate Accounting
Provide leadership, direction and set expectations for the project team.
Act as liaison between many finance business partners to communicate and deliver accurate and thoroughly scoped business requirements and effectively drive the requirements definition process, working closely with the project team
Effectively manage simultaneous projects.business owner and / or a business analyst.
Identify both internal and external risk areas as part of the project plan; performs risk management throughout the project lifecycle and creates contingency plans as appropriate.
Coordinate testing and Quality Assurance processes and ensures traceability to original requirements.
Work closely with the business functional areas, technical teams and vendors in defining systems / project priorities, scope, approach, resource requirements, timing deliverables
Manage teams to execute all phases within a Project Lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality work
Work with finance counterparts to ensure consistency of processes and best in class opportunities
Communicate regularly to project team, including key stakeholders and management team
Build and manage project status and prioritization dashboards
Bring new ideas on how to improve our current project management approach and methodology
Drive standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
Assign tasks and responsibilities, and drive accountability to project team members.
Direct and coordinate activities of project resources to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
Facilitate projects by defining agendas and running meetings.
Aggregate status delivered by project team, tracks schedules and manages risks and issues as required.
Manage scope and the change request process, coordinating decision process of scope and budgetary impact of changes from original specifications.
Track and maintain project and technical documentation
Required skills / experience
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Capable of set up business framework to articulate the goals and objectives and develop blueprint for success
Able to understand End to End process and highlight gaps
Proven working experience in project and project management
Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Able to communicate with with both team members and executives during the project lifecycle
Foster Teamwork : Ability to coordinate across departments and motivate staff members to complete projects deliverable.Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Lead : Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.
Creativity / Innovation : Develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization
Familiar with SOX compliance and other country equivalents.
ERP experience and accounting background recommended
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
PMP certification a plus
5+ years of experience in Accounting / Finance
