RateGain team is looking for a full time Lead NOC Engineer to join the team in Noida. You will utilize Network Management practices to design, deploy and maintain all network systems.

You must analyse problems, perform troubleshooting and incident response on the system, communicate with site technicians and track problems through to resolution.

Your engineering will directly contribute to an uptime greater than 99.99% for these customer-facing systems.

NOC Engineer duties and responsibilities.

Monitor Systems

Monitor the performance and capacity of network systems using a variety of tools. Look for hardware, software, and environmental alerts or malfunctions.

When an issue is identified, NOC Engineers has to work to determine the cause of the problem.

Troubleshoot Problems

When a problem affects the IT services, the NOC Engineer has to works to triage or troubleshoot the problem & fix it within the defined SLA.

This may include coordinating with third-party vendors, customer contacts, or other IT teams.

Track all Issues

While responding to incidents, the NOC Engineer must carefully track and document all issues and resolutions in detail. Also responsible for updating the Tickets on the Ticketing system.

Report Incidents

When problems are too large or complex for quick troubleshooting, NOC Engineers must escalate the issue to management, other IT resources or 3rd party vendors for assistance in reaching a resolution.

NOC Engineers maintain ongoing communication within the team and externally, to keep all stakeholders aware of relevant, known issues and the steps being taken.

NOC Engineer Skills

Strong analytical thinkers, who enjoy solving problems, thrive in a high-pressure environment with shifting priorities. Should be able to assess a situation and determine tactical steps forward, and can lead a team in implementing a strategic plan.

Core skills : NOC Engineers must have the below core skills.

  • Experience in managing, supporting and deploying network infrastructures
  • Experience in Network Monitoring, Baseline Configs / Hardening for Network Platform Automated / scripted processes for network device instances (including deployments)
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration for network devices.
  • Strong ability to diagnose server or network alerts, events or issues
  • Understanding of common information architecture frameworks
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and projects with minimal supervision
  • Monitors, alerts, notifications for network device instances
  • Fix Vulnerabilities on the devices with best recommended solution
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Manage & regularly update the Network Inventory & Network Diagrams.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, and ability to address conflict with others constructively
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards
  • A self-motivated individual with a strong customer focus and quality obsession.
  • Solve problems affecting mission critical systems and implement automation to prevent reoccurrence
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery plans and related technologies
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule. Provide 24x7 escalated network device support in an on-call rotation, participate in urgent bridge calls as needed
  • Experience in working on Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco & Checkpoint), Routers(CISCO), Switches (Cisco Nexus Series), LoadBalancers, etc.
  • Previous NOC, customer service or helpdesk experience
  • Qualifications :

    Bachelor / Master Degree in Engineering (Communications / Electrical & Electronics / Computer Science)

    CCNA / CCNP / CCIE certification is a must

    8-12 years of Network Engineer experience in an Enterprise setup of a NOC Team.

    Knowledge in Network concepts; server computing, telecom technologies.

    Understanding of TCP / IP and QOS in the LAN, WAN and WLAN

    Has understanding of LAN (Layer 2), WAN (Layer 3) networking protocols and technologies including switching, routing and security

    Strong understanding of OS Windows, Linux, Firewalls, Routers, Switches and load balancers (Technical support and deployments).

    Strong understanding of scripting and configuration of Network Devices.

    Strong knowledge of data center networking (including load balancers, ACL and Security).

    Strong problem solving, decision-making and facilitation skills

    Strong focus on creating high quality deliverables

    Experience in standards development and governance
