Job Description : Maxim is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support assigned IC products through the full product life-

cycle. Assignment may be in Maxim’s industrial, medical, communications, automotive, or mobility solutions groups..

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :

Board design planning

Manager schematic and layout creation

Performance optimization and characterization

Conduct all testing required for new product introduction creating new test methodologies

Collecting data for datasheets and release notes and collating results with design and test engineers

Provide technical support to key customers and field engineers

Mentor entry-level trainees or technicians

Should be conversant in simulation / design tools such as PSPICE, SIMPLIS, MATHCAD.

Ref System design, development, testing and debug skills with ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency with EvKit design (PCB Design) and development (circuit design and schematic capture, layout guidelines and practices, EvKit Testing)

Ability to quickly churn out / map a given customer reported issue or feature request by Analyzing / Debugging through the entire scheme of things

Application circuit generation, Datasheet and Application note generation

Provide technical support to key customers and field engineers

Experience with voltage monitors, sequencers and protection ICs

Experience in system design; Expertise in debugging complex HW / customer’s systems

Fair understanding of firmware / software would be plus

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree or Advanced degree plus 4 years of relevant work experience

Having worked / exposure to HV power modules, up to 60V input

Understanding of Embedded system design, USB / I2C / SPI protocols

Capability to innovate new testing techniques for Supervisory / Power ICs

Exposure to automated environments such as LabView or Perl / Python scripting

Understanding of topology and application circuit design techniques and methodology

Understanding of basic circuit modelling and compensation techniques (Switching Regulators)

Proficiency with making circuit calculations and design tradeoffs

Proficiency with power measurement techniques, road test and report generation

PhD with no experience

Understanding of transistor-level circuit design

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Percentage of Travel 0% - 10% Visa Sponsorship Available No
