Senior Engineer Wet Utilities

A position has arisen for a Senior Civil Engineer within our Infrastructure team in Hyderabad. The role will be both to lead the civil engineering design of major urban infrastructure projects’ drainage, highways and site development, and to assist and contribute to developing the work of the group.

The role is to specifically work on the Middle East projects. Location Hyderabad.

The ideal candidate will possess general infrastructure experience (drainage, sewage, wet utilities and hydrology). In addition, some highways and earthworks experience and a broad interest in the urban environment and sustainable development would be preferable.

You are ideally working with one of the top engineering companies in India or ME and have a broad experience of working on ME Infrastructure Master planning and Advisory projects.

  • 1. Key Accountabilities What do we expect of the individual?
  • Operations

    Principal operational accountabilities of the role.

  • Provide design solutions to civil engineering projects.
  • Design gravity and pressure networks for masterplan, transportation and highway projects
  • Design right of way cross sections for all utilities
  • Produce reports, drawings, calculations and presentations
  • Submit designs to local authorities and follow up to obtain approvals
  • Use AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, EPANET, Infoworks-ICM, Civil3D HecRAS and Microsoft office to produce my deliverables
  • Interface with the wider BH infrastructure and MEP teams, architects, masterplanners, stakeholder
  • Self starting and take ownership of work
  • Represent Buro Happold at meetings with clients, other professionals and suppliers
  • Coordinating his / her work with other members of the project team

    Essential Experience

  • Wet utilities (gravity and pressure networks) design experience
  • Stormwater Drainage design experience
  • AutoCAD Civils 3D
  • WinDes MicroDrainage
  • Working on a one to one basis and in team working situations
  • Experience of communicating technical subjects
  • Epanet
  • Experience in working within a team
  • Desirable Experience

    Experience of large international multidisciplinary projects

    Good working familiarity with the following :

  • HecRAS
  • Infoworks ICM
  • Qualifications

    What level of educational and professional qualifications should we expect?

  • Bachelors degree (BEng) in Engineering from a reputed institute.
  • Masters degree (MEng) in Engineering plus a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience.
  • PLUS

  • Corporate member of relevant institution - Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
