The India Power Grids Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 900 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning.

However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub within PG Business and HVDC and FACTS engineering center outside ABB Sweden.

The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports ABB units in more than 25 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business.

To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 60 countries.

Your responsibilities :

  • As a Technical Support Specialist you will be a source of technical expertise for AFx (AFS, AFR and AFF).
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues with these products as L2 & L3 product line support.
  • Interface between ABB internal or external customers and the supplier / OEM partner.
  • Collaboration with product management for discussions on roadmap of products under technical responsibility.
  • Responsibility for technical lab infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to AFS, AFR and AFF products reported by internal and external customers through ABB internal ticketing system as L2 & L3 product line support.

  • Your background

  • A Bachelor degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3-5 Years experience in product support.
  • Product knowledge of AFS, AFR, AFF and AFS view.
  • Cisco CCNx certification or equivalent is preferable.
  • Technical support experience in Routing & Switching (L2, L3).
