Roles & Responsibilities : -

Your primary focus initially will be on performance modeling and evaluation of high-performance computing, high-performance data analytics and cloud computing applications on novel persistent fabric-attached memory architectures

Specific activities will include : -

  • Profiling HPC / HPDA / cloud applications of interest to understand their processor, memory and I / O behavior.
  • Developing models of application computation and data access behaviors.
  • Extrapolating from profiled behaviors to predict application behavior on fu
  • processor and memory systems.

  • Building and / or extending large scale system simulator tools to support novel persistent fabric-attached memory architectures.
  • Building and / or extending large scale simulator tools to expose APIs that enable programming with fabric-attached memory.
  • Working with an application modeling team to Evaluating the simulation tools’ functional capabilities, performance, and scalability.
  • We value a strong background in mathematics, computer science and engineering; excellent software development skills; excellent performance evaluation skills;
  • the ability to work independently and in teams; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and the desire to learn new techniques to solve problems.

    Knowledge and Technical Skills Required : -

  • A very high level of coding and debugging skills in conventional languages (C and C++). Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Perl also a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both the use and creation of distributed large-scale simulation tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in profiling converged applications to quantify processor and memory system behavior.
  • Experience with creating abstract models of complex application behavior.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop and debug large complex software systems.
  • Strong background in algorithms, performance analysis and tuning.
  • Skills in these areas are also a plus :
  • o Broad familiarity with processor and memory system hardware architectures and interconnect topologies.

    o Ability to understand the impact of software architectural design decisions on system performance, fault tolerance and usability.

    o Familiarity and experience with complex memory models (e.g., persistent memory).

    o Demonstrated ability to work constructively in an open source community.

    o Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

    Experience & Education : -

    6+ years in HPC domain.

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
