Responsible for the quality and respect of project schedule for assigned piping material engineering tasks
Performance / review of material engineering activities of the assigned project
Performance / review of thickness / RF Pad / Bot torqueing calculations of assigned project
Prepares / reviews and controls piping MTO’s at various stages of the project
Prepares / Reviews piping material specification and piping components data sheets for assigned project
Responsible for the design of all piping components
Review of Client’s technical documentation and requirements
Prepares / Reviews material requisitions for all piping components for procurement activity
Performs technical bid evaluation for all piping components vendor offers
Issues Material requisitions for all piping components purchase orders
Reviews and approves vendor drawings / documents
Checks sub-contracted discipline engineering documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section
Responsible for the establishment / updates of the SPMAT data base
Checking of isometrics being issued for construction from material point of view
Assists inspection department for any query related to piping components being purchased
Performs the inter-disciplines checking for the part of documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section
MAIN TASKS :
Exercises following :
Performs / reviews material engineering related activities for assigned project and activity
Performs / reviews Material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and vendor offers.
Technical and operative interface activities with other departments for piping material related activities
Provides resolution of technical issues related to material engineering of the assigned project.
Prioritization and planning of engineering activities and deliverables
Responsible for achieving department / project KPI objective, productivity, milestones for assigned task.
Supports field technical in technical communications with clients / vendors when required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with at least 8 years of overall industry experience
Practical work experience of minimum 8 years in Piping material engineering to demonstrate as experienced piping material engineer.
Knowledge and experience with various ASME / API / NEMA / / ASTM / IBR and IS codes and standards as well as various PMC standards.
Fully Conversant with Material engineering activities like preparation of piping material specification, thickness / RF Pad / Bolt torqueing calculations, material procurement activities, vendor drawing review etc.
Fully Conversant with testing requirements for different piping components.
Proficient in the use of piping material software like SPMAT.
Fully Conversant with thickness calculations from different codes.
Fully conversant with piping items and materials used in Oil and Gas / refinery applications.
Thorough understanding of functioning and requirements of various types of valves.
Proficient in data handling tools and MS Excel including Macro writing will be added advantage.
Capable of providing Value Engineering inputs.
Should have the flexibility to work on areas other than core competence.
Field execution experience is added advantage

Ability to establish and meet deadlines for the task provided, manage priorities, and effectively achieve the goals in fast paced environment is critical.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is essential. Ability to foster communication within diverse cultural environments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : Spends most of time in a temperature-controlled office environment. If required shall go to site deputation / international deputation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Frequent sitting and operating a computer. Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change.
