The primary job responsibility of the Senior Accountant is to manage the accounting function, work cross-functionally with sales operations and supply-
chain management, and perform necessary analytics and reporting to ensure proper and accurate cost accounting.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Ensures proper inventory valuation with analysis of obsolescence, reserve and variances.
Participates in activities related to proper product cost, cost analysis and standard rate calculations.
Drives timely and accurate budgeting and forecasting, internal management reporting and supporting analysis.
Participates in implementation, maintenance and controls over cost accounting systems, policies and procedures to ensure that there is quality, scalability and consistency as the Company grows
Provides cost accounting support to other departments including supply chain management, sales operations and financial planning and analysis.
Reviews inventory cycle counting across domestic and international locations.
Participates in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes including reconciliations, re-classes and accruals as needed.
Provides audit support during quarterly reviews and annual audits as required.
Performs analytics on a regular basis and ad hoc analysis as required.
Works closely with the Revenue Accounting Manager on detailed gross margin analyses.
This position reports to the cost Accounting Manager.
Required Skills & Experience :
4+ years of relevant experience and a working knowledge of GAAP.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting methodologies with technical skills involving inventory transactions, cost analysis and month-end close.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple demands and work in a cross functional environment.
Strong attention to detail and thorough with focus on continuous improvement and scalability in process and systems.
Ability to make good decisions under pressure and multi-task effectively in fast paced environment.
Computer Skills :
Strong analytical skills with advanced MS Excel experience required including pivot tables.
Working knowledge of Oracle preferred.
