Role Overview

We are looking for a talented MSTR Developer to be part of our DevOps capability, the aim of which is the rapid development and continued support of reliably performing production software platforms.

We need a self-motivated individual who can work alongside multiple teams to oversee the design and development in a variety of projects.

This individual will work in an agile way with on-shore project development teams, including the on-shore BI engineers and analysts, business sponsors and solution architects to support the DevOps team within EUGG IT division.

Key Responsibilities :

The role holder should deliver tangible and measurable value to Finance, GPPS and GMA by taking a technical role in the delivery of both large and small Business Intelligence projects e.

g. KPI dashboards, Finance analytics and the Competitive Intelligence portal. They will undertake a range of activities including business analysis requirements, BI solution architecture, analytics, and software engineering and will be a key member of the agile project team.

The BI Engineer will help identify opportunities for innovation in their delivery, leveraging technology and methodology best practices externally and internally to improve delivery performance and team capabilities.

Essential technical skills and experience

  • Experience as MicroStrategy Developer, Architect & Administrator building projects and creating reports and Dashboards using MicroStrategy.
  • At least 4 years of experience in MicroStrategy ideally in version 10.x.
  • Extensively worked in creating and integrating MicroStrategy Reports and Objects (Attributes, Filters, Metrics, Facts, Prompts, Templates, Consolidation and Custom Groups) with the data warehouse.
  • Defining user’s groups and developing role based access to MicroStrategy dashboards.
  • Expert level skills in a range of BI technologies and applications and willingness to learn and use new technologies
  • Some experience and knowledge of Talend ETL or other ELT tools like Informatica.
  • Worked on designing schema and creating Facts, Attributes, Hierarchies and Transformations.
  • Information Modelling.
  • Troubleshoot issues raised by users and provide timely resolutions
  • Physical & Logical architecture design understanding in clustered environment
  • Perform capacity planning and requirement analysis, captures, and documentation regarding technical needs
  • Develop, create, and document technical architecture and specifications
  • Develops and maintains disaster recovery strategy
  • Assist with improving performance of infrastructure systems and end user experience
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external resources to support and enhance the existing BI architecture
  • Ability to make sound decisions and work well under pressure
  • Desirable Technical Skills :

  • Basic JavaScript.
  • Database knowledge around Redshift and Aurora.
  • Big Data technologies e.g. Hadoop, Map Reduce, Hive
  • Additional Skills and Experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team to achieve objectives
  • Experience of working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM and / or SAFe
  • A self-starter with high levels of drive, energy and resilience
  • Willing to be involved in all areas of deployment process including testing and release planning
  • Eager to learn and develop new tech skills as required
  • Qualifications and experience :

  • At least 4-6 years BI Engineering experience.
