Position : Senior Zabbix Administrator Cloud Infrastructure
Experience : 6-10 Years
As Senior Zabbix Administrator of Infrastructure & Cloud Operations monitoring, you will lead a team of sysadmins in the design, implementation and maintenance of a Global Enterprise monitoring system.
As part of the overall Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring Platform Practice, the Senior Admin will be responsible for developing & managing a high-performance team, dedicated to building, developing and maintaining a world-class monitoring solution.
To achieve this, you would develop the AWS / Oracle Public cloud, Private Cloud delivery teams, foster alignment with internal stakeholders and drive operational excellence, whilst supporting best-in-class customer engagement and enabling the expansion of the Cloud customer base.
Technical Expectation :
10+ years' experience in overall Enterprise monitoring (Zabbix a requirement), while 5+ years’ experience in engineering design for a global enterprise deployment
Strong knowledge and experience with AWS and AWS based networking (VPC, Route 53, Tunneling, etc.).
Understand Incidents, SR, Problem, Change from Cloud Ops perspective

Automate select network administration tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools
Strong understanding of architecture of various Monitoring Tools (Solution designing, Planning, Implementation, Configuration, Integration, Troubleshooting and administration)
Engineering-level understanding of Zabbix. (Evaluates software requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations)
Ability to write function / script (items) in Zabbix to enable monitors of all technology endpoints like VMWare, Oracle, Cisco, Palo Alto etc.
Ability to configure alerts in Zabbix servers (understand and assess the business use and downstream use of the configurations / customizations made to the Monitoring Tool)
Demonstrates proficiency in monitoring and management communications, technologies including but not limited to WMI, SNMP, SysLog .
Installation, maintenance, removal and reinstallation of monitoring tools (Ability to install and configure Zabbix server, Zabbix proxy server and Zabbix endpoints)
Removal of monitoring tool, as well as removal of connectivity of the customer environment.
Retesting of accounts and connectivity to the servers when new connectivity methods are established.
Test connectivity to the accounts and new servers. Meetings with the client to review this process
Handle updates / changes to Threshold changes, including of database update.
Adding instances to currently monitored servers
Migration of servers
Backup and restore partial or complete monitoring database
Ability to identify, troubleshoot regular issues. Also troubleshooting regular / complex Zabbix server functionality in case of errors.
Troubleshooting network connectivity for monitored servers or support servers with IP changes including changes to the currently configured monitoring which involves troubleshooting items such as SNMP, WMI, agents failing to connect, etc.
Able to troubleshoot and research issues, using outside resources such as technical forums and knowledge bases that are available through the Internet.
Review of all servers, instances, and thresholds for an entire client.
Scripting and testing PowerShell / Linuxscripts for new / custom monitoring checks, or appropriating older checks for current use to mirror functionality of older tools to a reasonable degree.
Required Skills :
Hands on experience on Monitoring tools (Zabbix in required skills, other like Nagios / SolarWind / Etc. can be added advantage).
Determine technical requirements to carry out various monitoring activities.
Solution designing, Planning, Implementation, Configuration, Integration, Troubleshooting and administration for the Monitoring Tools
For migration efforts, ensure assigned engagement team are kept informed about migration status, installation progress, barriers, and move quickly to ensure customer monitoring is enacted as soon as possible.
Prepares and maintains documentation of system configurations and customizations.
Basic understanding of ITSM practices
Provides guidance to internal departments.
