Role & Responsibilities
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the technical deliverable of ME projects delivered from India engineering Center.
He / She also will work on projects full lifecycle ME projects working closely with Global R&D & Cross functional team.
Responsible for the technical deliverables of ME projects. Review the ME deliverables from the team to ensure the technical quality of deliverables.
Will also have to independently handle end to end ME projects and guide the team of 2 5
Work with Thermofisher & Vendor resources to deliver the projects
Work with global R&D to execute the project.
Work on design of Fluid flow system (selection of Pumps, Valves and piping system) , Thermal management, Refrigeration, Structural design involving Sheet metal and plastic parts for New product development, Sustenance Engineering changes, Quality issues
Should have good knowledge on the compliance requirement and should support product regulatory compliance testing.
Work with cross functional team to understand customer requirement, participate in system / subsystem design review, finalize design requirement by reviewing with systems & global engineering teams;
Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous projects, tasks and programs to suit business needs
Provide design options and tradeoff analysis to meet the product requirements
Create the design documents for design review (HLD, DFMEA, requirements traceability matrix etc.), and verification plan mapping to the key performance and reliability requirement.
Responsible for project management of the projects to ensure that the projects are delivered on time with the right technical quality.
Verify the design performance to meet the requirement, complies with the Manufacturability and Serviceability, and achieve the cost / reliability target;
Collaborate closely with the Electrical / Electronic engineering team members to create product enclosures with compelling design and form-factors that also meet regulatory, safety, environmental, reliability, thermal and interface standard (Ethernet, USB, etc.
Collaborate closely with Cross functional team to create optimal design that meet functional requirements and cost goal.
Should have good project management experience for delivering medium or high complex end to end projects. Deliver designs to schedule, accountable for meeting deadlines, following up on outstanding issues and tracking project issues to resolution.
To work with the sourcing team, suppliers & Manufacturing team for the successful implementation of project.
Review work of the team members to ensure quality of execution and compliance with development processes.
Train, mentor and develop technical capability of team members
Promote and create standardization and re-usable design libraries that can be reused in subsequent projects.
Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering. Masters in Thermal / Fluid engineering ( optional)
10+ years of experience ME product design and development. Should have demonstrated proficiency in Refrigeration system design / Thermal Engineering design and should have worked on multiple end to end medium / high complex projects.
Experience of Fluid Flow system design, selection of Pumps, Valves and Piping will be an added advantage.
Experience in sheet metal and plastic component product design will be desirable.
Hands on theoretical calculations and mathematical modeling at system and component level.
Ability to apply design principles and practices in the design, development and verification of possible solutions.
Proficient in GD&T, tolerancing & Drawing principles.
Proficient in product development tools like Risk assessment, Root cause analysis procedures, DFMEA, PFMEA, etc is desirable.
Acquaintance to Evaluation plans at system and component level
Acquaintance to Technical report writing for Scope of work, Testing plan and Test report
Proficient to product reliability requirements & tools.
Knowledge of DFM & DFA with respect to ease of manufacture and assembly. Should be proficient with the material selections and manufacturing fundamentals.
Knowledge on CAD SW packages like Solid Works.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience with Technical mentoring a small team.
Experience with Chillers & flow control systems will be an added advantage.
