Role & Responsibilities :

  • To manage all functional aspects of projects centered on Corporate Actions
  • Capture explicit and implicit requirements and define appropriate solutions, in coordination with users, sponsors and the wider IT department;
  • Propose cost efficient solutions to users
  • Produce specifications at an appropriate level of detail;
  • Define test plans, test cases and execute required tests
  • Adapt solutions to the constraints of externally imposed deadlines;
  • Work with other Business Analysts and with developers;
  • Identify dependencies and coordinate with other teams when required
  • Communicate progress of activities to management
  • Organise UAT phases
  • Undertake training programs for the IT team, train users and prepare users guides
  • A minimum of 5 years of IT business analysis experience
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of financial products (e.g. not necessarily all Equity, Foreign Exchange, Bonds, Repo, Swaps, Credit Derivatives, ABS, CMO, Futures and Options) and concepts
  • Recent exposure to the trade processing lifecycle (including not necessarily all trading, trade capture, clearing, settlement and accounting) for the above products
  • Knowledge on Corporate Actions would be an added advantage
  • Experience of the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience with capturing and documenting user requirements, both explicit and implied
  • Experience of writing specifications so as to communicate effectively with a development team
  • Structured testing experience (write, execute and maintain test plans)
  • Working knowledge of SQL and ability to query database for analysis and investigation of issues
  • A strong level of autonomy is required, as well as pro-activeness and curiosity
  • Experience in working within an environment with high pressure on timeliness and quality of deliveries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
