Role Summary :
Lead Power Electronics Engineer is responsible for the design and development of power conversion technology platforms and execution of cost reduction and quality improvement programs.
Scope will include specification, development, prototyping, verification of line level voltage power distribution and energy storage systems including UPS, as well as low to mid-
level voltage AC-AC, AC-DC, DC-DC conversion systems. Plus safety design / testing, system interface, EMC, immunity to poor power quality
Essential Responsibilities :
Working wif cross functional, multi-modality, global team of experts to deliver power conversion subsystems, platforms and productivity.
Work wif NPI teams on gathering requirements and building specifications for power conversion platform elements and provide architectural inputs dat meet teh platform roadmap.
Identify and deliver teh opportunities for continuous improvement of products and processes impacting core technologies and design excellence.
Develop, oversee and execute reliability growth and qualification processes and tests.
Develop, oversee and execute EMC qualification tests.
Work on projects in core technology platforms dat can be used by multiple GEHC businesses and deliver wif program predictability in all aspects of schedule, cost, quality.
Design, implement, and test new power electronic hardware to meet documented requirements for power conversion products.
Establish system & sub-system level control requirements from functional specifications and application needs, develop and execute system and subsystem validation test plans.
Develop new products using simulation, modeling and statistical design methods.
Participate in FMEA, risk assessment and RCA activities.
Participate in writing product documentation, technical reports, and schedule estimates, and authoring hardware development and test plans

Qualifications / Requirements :
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in development engineering relevant to power electronics design OR
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, wif emphasis on power electronics, min 5 years of experience in product design and development.
Experience and demonstrated application of industry recognized power electronics simulation and analysis tools such as Matlab and PLECS
Experience and demonstrated application of an industry recognized electronic design capture tool suite including component library
Experience and demonstrated application of power components including semiconductors, control and regulation ICs, distribution and safety components
Experience and demonstrated application of medical device and industrial power safety standards such as IEC60601-1, IEC950, NFPA-70 and UL508
Experience and demonstrated application in medical device compliance including FDA design controls
