The Editorial Research Manager, Europa India will :
Ensure the continuous process of online research and updating of directory and statistical information belonging to Europa’s reference and directory titles, using the company’s content management system and other databases;
Reach standards of quality and quantity for research and updating as agreed with UK editorial managers;
Meet schedules and deadlines as agreed with UK editorial managers, thus enabling the timely publication of latest print editions and online updates.
Liaise regularly with the wider Europa editorial staff based in the UK.
All Europa Team Leaders (or equivalent) based in India will report to the Editorial Research Manager.
Regularly monitor and review progress, at both micro- and macro- levels, of the Europa India team towards achieving its goals.
Support and guide individual Europa Team Leaders, providing effective training as well as clear and constructive feedback, and encouraging development of skills relevant to their roles, thus enabling them to do their best work at all times.
Perform a co-ordination role across all four Europa sub-teams in India.
Be the principal point of contact at management level for Europa within T&F India.
Maximise potential benefit to business of Europa products by co-operation with other departmental managers within T&F India.
Ensure that processes are set up to maintain communication between Europa staff in India and those based in global offices.
Manage the process of recruiting new members of staff.
Ensure that company and department goals (or key issues) are effectively communicated to all members of the department.
Identify and agree common learning needs across the department and provide appropriate support to enable these needs to be met.
An understanding of the academic publishing industry
Experience in leading and managing editorial teams; ability to set and manage priorities
Must be a self-starter who can work quickly and independently, while liaising effectively with colleagues globally
An interest in current affairs and global politics / economics
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized
Established project management skills
Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Familiarity with digital content management systems
