Designation : Software Engineer

Principal Accountabilities :

  • Acquire deep knowledge of both the Operational Risk Framework and IBM OpenPages which provides a one stop shop for all development / configuration needs as part of regular Helios releases.
  • Understand the requirements, turn them into functional requirements and user stories, estimate and develop.
  • Perform unit testing, support SIT and UAT activities. Analyse the issues reported / bugs and provide timely resolution.
  • Work under predefined quality metrics.

    Customers / Stakeholders :

  • Ensure strong networks with key stakeholders within Operational Risk IT, NFR Business Users and other Technology team, enabling the NFR IT function’s ability to execute at pace but in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Teamwork :

  • Embed the vision for Risk IT / NFR IT and associated values and goals, to inspire and engage people to create an inclusive, high performing, execution-centric culture
  • Major Challenges :

  • To be flexible and adaptable in an environment of constantly changing priorities while staying true to the objectives of the NFR IT portfolio delivery and Service standards.
  • ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Hands-on experience of Operational Risk Systems and Processes, preferably with hands-on experience of a GRC platform such as IBM OpenPages.
  • At least 2-3 years of hands on experience in JAVA, Oracle, ETL (like data stage) and reporting tools like QlikSense.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with conflicting and rapidly changing priorities, together with a willingness to work outside of standard hours to satisfy global time zones.
  • IDEAL EXPERIENCE BUT NOT MANDATORY

  • Knowledge on Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Knowledge of the IBM Open Pages GRC Platform.
  • Knowledge of Cognos Analytics V11
  • ESSENTIAL SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

    Including : Interpersonal skills, management, leadership, communications, sales, planning and organising, project management skills etc.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal & influencing skills (written and spoken)
  • Personable and able to build strong rapport with the team, users, HOST and sometimes senior management
  • Highly organized with a strong delivery focus and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Excellent critical thinking skills - ability to work under pressure and resolve complex issues
  • Additional Information

  • Working days Typically Monday to Friday. May need to work on Week-end on need-basis to support week-end releases.
