In this role you will be responsible for supporting Java Developers Community by triaging Incidents reported by them. You will be responsible for analyzing the Incidents, verifying the Incidents, and working with the Developers and Java Developers Community to resolve the issue.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about Java and who has minimum 7 years of hands on experience in Java technology.While the position will be based in Oracle IDC, India, you will work with Product Development Engineers around the world. In additionto working within standard business hours, there will be occasional on-call requirements during the evening and weekend hours. As a Java Developers Community Support Engineer, you will write technical articles, participate in StackOverflow, technical discussions & conferences.
We are looking for an Engineer / Individual Contributor who has following attributes:
(Must Have) Minimum BE/BTech in Computer Science or equivalent, plus 7-15 years of relevant work experience. Proven work experience in Core Java. Proven record in debugging software issues & using one or more debugging tools such as Windbg, dbx, gdb, etc.. Must be result oriented, must have passion for customer satisfaction and ability to provide thorough and useful technical information. Hands on Experience in System Administration of Linux, Windows and macOS. Must be an excellent problem solver, creative thinker, and very self-motivated.
(Desirable) Hands on Experience in Development under Linux environment. Hands on Experience (one or more) in shell scripting, python, C/C++, and Perl. Hands on experience (at least one) in Open Source projects e.g. Apache Foundation projects, java.net projects etc. Ability to diagnose issues through the analysis of core dumps, logs etc.. Proven experience in OOAD & Design Patterns. Familiarity with source code control tools such as Mercurial / Teamware / CVS / Clearcase. Ability to work well both with local and remote team members & adheres to group processes. Strong self-management skills and written and oral communication in English, with other languages a plus.
