We’re looking for an Senior Industrial Designer who’ll be responsible for defining design for our diverse product categories and execution of the design, in close alignment with the business and development teams.
You’ll be part of Signify’s Cooper Lighting Solutions - Industrial Design team in Pune (India). Our nimble design team thrives in a fast-paced environment of global synergy with our cross-functional team members to consistently deliver innovative, meaningful lighting solutions, so enthusiasm, flexibility and collaboration must be in your DNA.

What you’ll do
Bring ideas to life through design leadership and hands-on execution in all phases of the Industrial Design process from concept development, sketching, 3D concept modeling, digital rendering to definition of Color / Material / Finishes.
Deliver high quality graphics and presentations driving visual appeal of the team’s design concepts.
Research, forecast and communicate styles and trends as they relate to product design.
Collaborate and work effectively as part of a cross functional team Engineering / Manufacturing, Consumer Insights, Brand.
Gather VOC (Voice of Customer), determine CCR’s (Critical Customer Requirements) and then translate consumer needs into tangible, desirable product solutions.
Leads projects (communicate vision, manage timelines, meet deliverables).
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design or Product Design from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant, hands-on industrial design experience in a consultancy or corporation. 7+ years of industrial design experience is preferred.
International experience is a plus.
Demonstrate a mastery of technical skills : Rapid, iterative sketch development, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator are a must), SolidWorks CAD, Keyshot, CMF Design (Color, Material & Finish), Rapid Prototyping, and Graphical Visualization.
Sketchbook Pro is a plus.
A thorough understanding and integration of Design Thinking and User Experience principles in the product development process.
Mechanically inclined, with solid understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes and materials with emphasis towards medium or high-volume manufacturing.
Deep curiosity around adjacent areas, including UI / UX, IoT, GUI, materials engineering, and human behavior, and understand how these fields influence the lighting application and design.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
Well-developed and demonstrated interpersonal skills.
