Role : IT Solution Architect

Responsible For :

Please describe the role that the candidate will be undertaking within the team)

Key Activities

Working with Lead and Senior Solution Architects (mostly based in London) and providing solution support to them.

Create detailed IT solution design, based on the functional specifications and user requirements, to meet quality and performance requirements, and technical constraints

Manage and produce the overall solution design including high level (Application to application, entity relationship, data flow) to low level (field structures, database schemas) design

Ensure solution designs meet the requirements of business functions

Ensure solution designs can be later implemented into the business with minimal impact and / or disruption to service with little or no impact to business processes unless this have been prior agreed

Ensure all solution designs comply with the security and assurance requirements

Develop solution acceptance criteria and communicate this across all IT relevant functions

Alignment of solutions to HSBC architectural standards

Presentation of solution designs to various HSBC architectural forums for approval

Managing key architecture artefacts on the team’s sharepoint, confluence and Erwin Casewise repositories

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Including : Education, technical knowledge (number of years), company / industry experience, IT knowledge (levels required), languages etc.

Degree or equivalent educated

3+ years’ experience as Solution Architect within a Financial Services (Retail, Wealth, Commercial Banking areas) company

Good understanding of KYC, AML, Fraud, Sanctions Screening domains

Experienced in working within matrix project team

Experienced in working within Agile delivery model and project structures

Data analysis experience

Interfacing with Architecture teams and functions

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

Including : Interpersonal skills, management, leadership, communications, influencing, planning and organising, project management skills etc.

Good business judgement and capacity to consult on and satisfy business needs

Good presentation and negotiating skills

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Time management and resource management skills

Proven experience in managing significant risks and problem resolution

Experienced in people management

DESIRABLE SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

Including : Interpersonal skills, management, leadership, communications, influencing, planning and organising, project management skills etc .

2+ years Agile experience

Understanding and implementation of key agile artefacts

Jira experience

MS Office (with Visio) experience

TOGAF experience or qualification

BPMN 2.0 Business Process modelling experience

Erwin Casewise 2.0 experience is desirable
