OracleData Cloud – System Administrator (Role: IC2)

Work witha world-class team to support industry-leading Oracle Cloud services. In thisrole you will work with talented team of technologists responsible formaintaining Oracle’s Cloud services.

The SystemAdministrator will be part of the Oracle Data Cloud team and will beresponsible for the 24/7/365 support of fast pace the production hostedenvironments. Must be customer-centric, goal-oriented, self-directed and havethe ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously with anunwavering dedication to operational excellence.

Must be amotivated, team-player with the ability to work cross functionally with a“can-do” and “do-it-right” attitude and willingness to mentor other SystemAdmins.

Must be aself-starter and constantly thinking a way to improve the work.

Keyresponsibilities:

Alertmonitoring, troubleshooting, remediation, and escalation of tickets tied to theproduct support function

Coordinatewith Tier 2 / On-site support teams to establish and manage clear escalationguidelines for supported system components

Resolveproblems by executing Standard Operating Procedures. Provide feedback toenhance Standard Operating Procedures.

Createand maintain materials that outline and support the Tier 1 Production Supportfunction, associated processes, and overall system components that aresupported

Identifyand implement improvements to the team’s processes.

Performroutine checks and automate recurring tasks where ever applicable.

Developtraining for other team members.

Assistbroader IT Operations team with Tier 1 triage of Infrastructure and ApplicationSupport tickets

Otherspecific projects/tasks as required.

Key skills requirements:

Bachelor'sdegree/Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.

Musthave 2+ years of extensive System Administration experience with strong senseof ownership, urgency and drive.

Understandingof the concepts behind web application stacks.

OperatingSystem: Windows administration 2003, 2008 & Linux administration in anydistribution

Database:Knowledge on MS SQL /Oracle database administration would be an added advantage

Understanding/reading /writing / troubleshooting SQL script would be an added advantage

Knowledgeon Virtualization and Scripting would be an added advantage.

Knowledgeon Windows Active directory, Users & Permissions / Security troubleshooting

Workingknowledge on AWS, EC2 would be an added advantage

Priorexperience in mission-critical support role

Priorcommercial development experience

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.

Monitor the fundamental server/network capacity. Determine the characteristics of a problem and either resolve the problem immediately and/or record, escalate, and track the problem through to closure and to the customer*s satisfaction.

Work involves some problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and procedures. BS in Computer Science or related field.
