What you will be doing

  • Provide level 1 and level 2 support for client-facing systems and applications including mainframes, Tandems, switches, networks, processor links, ATM’s, servers- windows, UNIX, Linux and internet applications .
  • Monitor Operating System thresholds (memory utilization, CPU utilization, data storage space, etc,
  • Executes and monitors batch and online systems in multi-platform environment, including critical backups. Assists in first and second level event resolution and escalates problems as required
  • Must master multiple batch scheduling solutions on both open systems and the mainframe
  • Works with a minimal amount of direct supervision and should be able to make proper decisions in all facets of IT Operations utilizing standard operating procedures
  • Monitors systems at all locations and responds to issues based on standard operating procedures
  • Must be capable of managing communications with IT and business stakeholders around critical issues
  • Provide technical assistance to all users utilizing documented procedures. Answer questions and resolve problems over the phone, providing instruction through verbal communication and remote access
  • Assist in resolving issues related to system hardware and software. Refer and escalate calls as necessary
  • Maintains current knowledge of operating procedures and standards
  • Review and follow-up on all open calls, ensuring they are closed within company defined SLA's
  • What you bring : -

  • Drives issue resolution by making critical decisions that may impact multiple clients’ processing.
  • Proactively investigates known and unknown error conditions and follows prescribed error correction procedures when they apply.
  • Performs monitoring and operational management functions for associated hardware and software within 24x7 processing environment.
  • Maintains peak performance at full capacity for all systems.
  • Follows new / improved work procedures where appropriate, tests and implements program and / or systems changes, responds to processing problems and exercises sound judgment to make client impacting processing adjustments.
  • Recognizes abnormal processing conditions and makes appropriate response decisions.
  • Follows escalation procedures when appropriate to resolve errors in a timely manner.
  • Makes use of available documentation to resolve errors and identifies / implements documentation gaps.
  • Recognizes and implements / automates process enhancements.
  • Monitors and responds accordingly to an array of system and application generated messages.
  • Responds in a timely manner to questions and requests from incoming calls and incident tickets.
  • Proactively maintains contact with clients and serves as client advocate to internal organizations.
  • Analyzes problems / trends with client systems and applications and takes steps to avoid recurrence.
  • Works on internal and external projects of various sizes, complexity.
  • Contributes to existing and develops new solution approaches to the IT environment.
  • Knowledge / Experience

  • Strong Knowledge of : JCL,COBOL,TSO, JES3 / JES2, ISPF ,
  • Good If having Knowledge on TWS, Control-M, DB2, CICS, ServiceNow, VSAM & NETVIEW
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of information systems at a level normally acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 2-4 years of experience in IT Mainframe Operations or Infrastructure
  • Experience with enterprise class batch scheduling systems is required
  • Flexible to work in 24*7 shift environment .
  • Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Sterling & Control-M Environment
