TheSenior Software Engineer position serves as a senior team member within a teamof Software Engineers. The team is responsible for the ongoing support anddevelopment of Operations Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse solutions.

TheSenior Software Engineer position performs complex research, design, andsoftware development assignments, and provides direct input to project plans,schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-

functional softwareproducts. This position performs software design, mentors more-junior membersof the team; and talks to users / customers and translates their requests intosolutions.

Key Result Area :

Deliver own high-qualitysoftware development work (70%)

  • Work closely with different businessand technology units to understand their data
  • warehousing and reporting needs

  • Create data warehouses, databasedesigns and implementations
  • Perform test driven development (TDD) withinthe Agile software development process
  • Have a good understanding of ETLprocesses for data loading into data warehouses
  • Develop and maintain reports to thebusiness

  • Act as a lead and mentor for otherdevelopers within team business intelligence capabilities

    Functional and Technical competencies :

  • Knowledge ofsoftware development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Strongunderstanding of normalized and dimensional data modeling principles. Withespecially in-depth knowledge of Data Warehousing principles and practice
  • Strongproficiency with advanced SQL including optimization techniques (other datamanipulation languages advantageous)
  • Strongknowledge of Redshift or Oracle databases and preferably one or more other datastorage subsystems as well.
  • Expertise indevelopment languages including Pl / SQL Java, Unix, Python, XML and othersalso desirable
  • Strongknowledge of Business Intelligence tools Oracle Business Intelligence andTableau in particular

  • Ability todesign and work with complex data models.
  • Strong knowledgein industry best practices in development.
  • Strongproblem-solving experience identifying, researching, and coordinating theresources necessary to effectively troubleshoot / diagnose complex projectissues;
  • prior success extracting / translating findings intoalternatives / solutions; and identifying risks / impacts and schedule adjustmentsto facilitate management decision-making.

    Education, Knowledge, Skillsand Experience :

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering
  • BS Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent experience required;advanced degree preferred; relevantcertifications added advantage
