Job Title : Buying Manager - Western

Years of Experience : 7-8 and more years of work experience in Retail industry from apparel background with direct responsibility of sales, inventory and margins for the Category.

Min 3-4 years of Team management experience

Education- B Fetch / M Fetch / BE Textiles / BSc Home Science / MBA / MSc Wood / B Design / M design

  • Job Responsibilities -
  • Market Interactions :

  • Regularly interact and visit the stores to gather first hand customer response to the merchandise offering - style, quality, display & pricing
  • Observe customer's purchase behavior to understand future product development / styling needs and pricing decisions
  • Interact directly with store teams to handle queries and objections, training store teams on Product
  • Interact with MRHs on specifics to help them achieve their target, faster growth
  • Category Planning & Management :

  • Support Category Head in Product range planning and buying by identifying existing and new business opportunities
  • Develop and implement the annual calendar for design, range launches, promotions, stock rationalization and discount
  • Ensure timely approvals & placement of orders to ensure timely deliveries
  • Drive the pricing, marketing and promotions of the category's products in order to make them as visible, accessible, and appealing to customers
  • Innovate for targeting new customer segment, increasing sales and rationalizing costs
  • Customize product mixes for regional preferences
  • Create and maintain workflows, WIP, Time and Action plan for the category
  • Provide communication briefs addressing category requirement
  • Review code excel as per CPA guidelines
  • Maintain costing sheets
  • Ensure maintenance of accurately filled Product order sheets for both JW & DP
  • Vendor Management :

  • Source, develop and maintain a productive relationship with vendors (Fabric and Garment) that is mutually beneficial to the company and artisans
  • Deploy orders to DP vendors judiciously and create an approved list of nominated vendors with SCM
  • Production :

  • Ensure timely order placement to SCM team with tech packs basis the consumption planning run output
  • Monitor production tracker of every style in the category and take early calls for opportunity maximization
  • Ensure support to markets by timely replying / responding to customer requirements
  • Inventory Management :

  • Manage inventory at PH and Markets
  • Ensure effective planning and forecasting (order placement & dispatch) in order to optimize the inventory levels.
  • Pricing :

  • Develop effective pricing ; Buying and selling at right price to ensure targeted GPs
  • Quality :

  • Work with QA team to influence establishment of quality standards for the products
  • Take timely and effective commercial decisions
  • Documentation & Report Analysis

  • Ensure that periodic reports related to category performance / Dashboards are made available as per the timeline and handle any query that may arise
  • Review meets and share inputs / insights
