Senior Manager, Operational Finance (Job number : 13002698D20170623)

The Process and Controls team sets process governance, monitors process and control execution, and monitors / reports opportunities for targeted process improvement across Finance.

The team maintains the process taxonomy, oversees the maintenance of XL Catlin’s Finance process documentation, and employs industry standard process management methods.

The team supports a standard process documentation and analysis tool set. The team provides consistent, detailed process-

based information for analysis and reporting.

The role of this position is to plan and lead major process improvement opportunities within finance functions across XL Catlin Group in India and onshore locations.

As this is a junior middle leadership position, the candidate is expected to be self-driven and motivated, with minimal day-

to-day direction and take full responsibility for the ultimate deliverables. The position will report directly to Senior Delivery Lead in India based out of Gurgaon Office.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Excellent team / overall management skills to ensure all team members operate to a very high standard, working within very tight deadlines
  • Stakeholder management for both India and non-India based processes
  • Full understanding and ownership of all the deliverables
  • Responsible for reviewing, improving and redesigning business processes and services to bring in substantial efficiencies.

    Review and analyze existing processes documented and help to manage their continuous improvement.

    Draft and document new / existing processes per business requirement.

    Partnering with the finance / IT teams to delivery of business improvement projects to agreed quality and time, ensuring key stakeholders are engaged and involved at all relevant stages.

    Identify interdependencies / overlaps between departments and / or processes and work closely with peers to streamline these.

    Identify and scrutinize possible risks that will have an impact on the financial success of our business.

    We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills :

  • CA / CPA with 8-10 years of experience in an organization of repute, with strong experience in the area process optimization and overall risk and controls framework
  • Experience of handling improvement projects, facilitating and supporting business change and to influence others across the business of the need to change.
  • Experience in the use of meddling tools (such as Visio or Similar)
  • Experience of process improvement tools and techniques (like leading Green belt or Black belt projects).
  • Strong IT skills (MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word).
  • Experience in insurance industry would be an added advantage
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced multi-cultural environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively to onshore locations (mainly UK and US)
  • Experience of working with consultancy firms would be an added advantage.
