Role Summary :
This job will entail getting / understanding product requirements, planning and executing the design, development & validation of requirements for hybrid renewable systems in a global matrix-ed organization.
Candidate should have willingness to work with Flexible working hours to facilitate communication with global team members & travel as required for various campaigns
Essential Responsibilities :
Participate in and lead the development of EDGE infrastructure for the hybrid renewable systems
Own requirements engineering, design, development & validation of algorithm that will improve turbine performance, reduce mechanical loads and provide real-
time insights to the main controller on the turbine performance characteristics.
Define and own the interfaces for MarkVie and EDGE controller
Actively participate in estimation, planning and execution of for various development activities
Validate the algorithm in PIL / HITL and at wind farm, resolve any issues thereof & maintain / upgrade the Test Setup and accessories.
Adhere to QMS process laid down and propose timely improvements to QMS
Prepare & present design & validation results for review to principal engineer & chief engineers
Coordinate with engineering stake holders for EDGE control releases and field test execution
Demonstrate strong FTY / OTD and strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
Qualifications / Requirements :
Masters / Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical / Controls / Electronics Engineering, with good academic track
Over all experience of 6-8 years, with minimum 4yrs in Control Systems application software development for rotary machines.
Experience with wind turbine would be an added advantage
Strong in linear & non - linear control system fundamentals
Strong Matlab & Simulink (with state flow) based development for at least 5 years.
Strong knowledge and hands on experience in C / C++ based development
Applies principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean / Agile and Development / Testing Techniques.
Experience with HMI and networking with control Systems and auxiliary devices, EGD, Device net, CAN and profibus communication protocols.
Travel required within India and to other Global sites
Strong Multi-Tasking and proactive and open approach to conflict resolution
Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong in oral, written communication and strong interpersonal skills are must
Desired Characteristics :
Working knowledge of CI / CD to support continuous automation and deployment process
Operation knowledge of Wind turbine generators
Working experience with global teams
Project Management experience
Hands-on experience with GE Mark VIe series controller (GE Employee only) for at least 5 Years & PLC / DCS systems and application development in GE Toolbox ST
Exposure to NPI process (GE Employee only) and Six Sigma Tools and hands on with tools like FMEA, Risk assessment and FBD
