Technical activities

  • Receive referrals from the business and then gather information and supporting documentation, determine if the correct decision has been applied, recorded and presented for review
  • If apparent during the review of a referral submit a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR)
  • When collating data, must maintain good organisational skills, an ability to work to deadlines and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Present information that clearly demonstrates clear and logical thinking and at all times show the utmost respect for confidentiality
  • Execute monitoring tasks that have been assigned and ensure that compliance procedures are followed
  • Assist as directed the internal investigation of compliance issues
  • Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation
  • Follow written policies and procedures and training related to compliance activities
  • Track and report on progress to relevant parties including managing and escalating any issues and scope changes (progress / risks / issues)
  • Ensure all aspects of compliance are met
  • Proactively contribute to on-going development and process improvements
  • Attention to detail is an important element. Ensure that information is correctly processed and that work complies with relevant internal and external rules, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Produce clear, accurate and concise written communications that support colleague understanding and engagement
  • Know when to seek guidance and support when appropriate.

    Relationship management

  • Closely work with the business on monitoring the risk factors on the transactions and escalate to the Risk Operations leads and managers to ensure timely resolution
  • Develop sound professional working relationships with colleagues, business staff and management, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business
  • Communication

  • Responsible for pro-active and regular communication
  • Actively communicate and seek feedback from colleagues and customers
  • Play a participative part in Team Briefs
  • Be proactive in the provision of feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve solutions relating to Travelex C&R
  • Ensure feedback to line manager outlining general activities of role and how we are doing’
  • General

  • Undertakes any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participates in training and development procedures
  • Complies with all Company Health and Safety policies and legislation in the performance of their duties and responsibilities
  • Maintains confidentiality and observes data protection guidelines
  • Carries out any other reasonable duties commensurate with their capability
  • Essential

  • Previous experience in Compliance & Risk in a shared service
  • Previous experience of Accreditation, Sanction Checking, Transaction Monitoring, Suspicious Activity Reporting. Fraud experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal
  • The ability to manage across multiple time zones within a fast-paced and diverse cultural environment
  • Very proficient in Microsoft Office XL
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office products
  • A proven track record of achieving results
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good team-playing skills
  • Clear and logical thinking
  • Good organisational skills and an ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to deal with customers and employees at all levels within the organisation
