Symantec’s Enterprise Security Group is focused on helping business address the four key areas of Enterprise Security : Information Protection, Threat Protection, Endpoint Security and Network Security.

The Information Protection Product Management team addresses the first of these four challenges.

Our Information Protection solution enables customers to discover, monitor and protect their information, in order to help organizations protect their most valuable assets and sensitive information from loss or theft, demonstrate compliance, and maintain competitive advantage.

This position will be responsible for driving Product Management (PM) initiatives as part of the Information Protection Product Management team.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Clearly communicate and drive product strategy, direction, and vision
  • Identify and drive forward "game-changing" product innovations
  • Be the champion for your product with customers, analysts, and internally
  • Analyze competition and determine features and positioning to beat them
  • Work closely with engineering to develop product features
  • Facilitate the product development process
  • Gather, analyze, prioritize, and present customer, prospect, and market requirements
  • Determine and support technology partnerships for embedded products
  • Support sales through direct engagement with prospects and customers
  • Help educate and prepare field and support personnel
  • Travel required approximately 25%
  • Qualifications :

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA preferred.
  • Management consulting experience highly valued
  • Superior structured problem solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Sound business judgement
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and peers alike
  • Strong sense of ownership, initiative and work ethic
  • Confidence, credibility and poise, and ability to think on your feet
  • Experience in enterprise software product management a plus
