The following would be the key responsibilities of the DOC Ocean Subject Matter Expert : -

1. Supporting our operations colleagues in DOC for their day to day operational issues / challenges. 2. Capturing the business requirements and translating them in conjunction with the various other support functions (IT, Product, Finance) highlight these requirements / new features to the Global Ocean BPO or DOC Automation team to make the process faster and efficient for the customers / vendors, with an aim to ensure we meet customers requirements, compliance requirements and at times various other requirements from internal and external stakeholders

In addition, the role is also responsible for making sure that processes are documented and that DOC operators globally are trained in how to operate in line with process standards.

Lastly, this role is supporting the CEN OCE OPS Manager to deliver on the overall Ocean strategy.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Look forward for best practice sharing across regions to ensure the DOC processes are continuously standardize and improve the same in line with the global process defined by the BPO team.
  • Assist execution team with daily tasks e.g. support to DOC, review necessary test cases, testing of releases for owned systems, data clean up, etc.
  • Represent the DOC OPS function in various projects assigned, often standardization or digitization related initiatives.
  • Create / Maintain / Update DOC SU community, along with continuous knowledge enhancement of the super users.
  • Drive for an open and constructive working relationship with regional SMEs and IT stakeholders to ensure rapid and optimal use of the global IT solutions (supporting our processes).
  • Act as gate keeper of the DOC processes, make sure the global process changes are well translating the same in the DOC operating processes and automations as required.
  • Implement any global system release planning together with IT and regional SMEs.
  • Requirements :

  • Proactive and can-do attitude
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience within ocean operations
  • Strong conceptual abilities able to translate complex issues into ideas and actions
  • Good understanding of ocean operations (Import and Export), daily processes and systems, esp. Kewill (BlueJay)
  • Good communicator & team player
  • Ability to drive the DOC super user community
  • Continuous improvement mindset
