Partner with Product teams to provide actionable analysis and insights to further improve the value of the Egencia websites and mobile apps.
Increase our understanding of customer engagement and shopping behaviour across different devices, setting KPIs, monitoring key trends, and partnering with the Product teams to help optimize customer experience based on insight delivered.
Perform hands-on analysis of large volumes of data and across multiple datasets primarily using SQL and Python / R.
Design models to solve business problems and, where appropriate, manage integration of the insights into regular reporting by the Reporting / BI teams
Understand business challenges and transform them into advanced analytics / machine learning / data mining problems; use your analytics toolbox to effectively solve them
Be able to debug and correct your data assumption through testing
Document the technical details of your work
Build, assess, and iteratively improve predictive models using best-in-class machine learning methods and standard methodologies
Use a range of analytical and statistical techniques to answer key questions from stakeholders
Consult / support ad-hoc requests for data and analysis
Master’s required with a strong preference for a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operational Research or machine learning related field
Experience with distributed / cloud computing (AWS / Hadoop / Spark)
Efficient programmer in Python / R / Scala
Experience manipulating large data sets from multiple sources (SQL, Hadoop, Teradata, AWS)
Experience working with web analytics data (e.g. Adobe Analytics) strongly desired
Passion about solving real world machine learning problem.
Experience in the ecommerce industry
High level of intellectual curiosity and willing to take action by generating business insights
Excellent understanding of how to effectively visualize highly complex data
Strong written and oral communication skills
