Finance Business Partner DACH

Country / Location : Munich or Dusseldorf, Germany

As Finance Business Partner DACH you serve as key business partner and contributor for the DACH management in support of ongoing growth strategies, tactics and long-

term planning, ensuring that current revenue-generating strategies create enterprise value.

You actively partner with relevant business colleagues to optimize business performance by maximizing the use of technology to bring an analytical approach to framing and solving problems, and to identifying opportunities.

Build a collaborative relationship with the business and be seen as an integral and accepted function within the company, especially within the DACH Management and Sales team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Establish an active partnership with both the assigned local management and the global Finance management team (especially EMEA) to provide real time support, to be a trusted advisor and to add value that will assist the local DACH management and Sales team in decision making.
  • Be the interface and translator between the languages of Finance and Operations.
  • Work closely with local DACH management to drive the forecasting process for the assigned segment of business operations.
  • Maintain the monthly forecast model that is coordinated with the local leadership and budget.

  • Work with corporate FP&A, establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and scorecards within DACH to monitor the business specifically with regard to efficiency, profitability and time and resource management.
  • Partner with the business in a commercial capacity to support business growth in DACH and where appropriate engage directly with strategic clients on large deals.
  • Provide early deal engagement shaping and maximize economic value. As appropriate help generate customer ROI business cases to secure budgets.
  • Be able to identify improvement opportunities in processes.
  • Direct preparation of the annual sales plan and operating budget. Review actuals with management and provide for an understanding of variances.
  • Complete special financial, administrative and ad hoc projects as directed by your senior management.
  • Be a Qlik champion in the finance function, demonstrating the value internally of our business discovery platform. Be the regional expert user of standard corporate apps (financial and operational) and develop apps on an ad hoc basis as required to increase the credibility of the finance function and its analysis and conclusions when facing off with operating management.
  • Work alongside the shared service center in region to who will provide the following functions : invoicing, maintenance renewals, payroll, accounting, Concur, accrual and commission calculation.
  • Ensure internal controls, procedures, and guidelines are conform to corporate directives, HR policies, industry practices and government rules.

  • based view and tie to financial outcomes, not limited to financial statement analysis.

  • Advanced aptitude in problem solving, including the ability to logically structure an appropriate analytical framework.
  • Provide relevant information and analysis, clarification and guidance.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to be easy to do business’ with and with the ability to influence and build strong business relationships.

  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor Degree equivalent mandatory
  • Finance or equivalent qualification
  • A Masters degree in Accounting or MBA desirable
  • Languages

  • Business level English and German mandatory
  • Other relevant languages would be an advantage
  • Experience (technical, commercial, industry / product / functional expertise, etc.)

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in Finance with experience as a business partner
  • First experience in leading a small team
  • Experience of working within a centralized Finance model
  • Knowledge of and / or experience within the software industry working for small fast growth and larger organizations
  • Sound understanding of process principles and tactics
  • Experience with all accounting principles (GAAP) and international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is highly desired
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated experience using Excel to build and maintain complex financial models as well as perform financial and data analysis
  • Knowledge in QLIK products is an advantage
