Earn the technical respect of the people on your team. This is a technical leadership position and the ideal candidate should be aware development practices, methodologies and most of all - execution focused.
Define technical strategies and objectives for the product portfolio collaborating with architects, product management and team.
Continuously improve policies and procedures as part of agile development practice.
Establish operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments to subordinates.
Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements.
Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels within the enterprise and / or client organizations.
Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations without damaging the relationship.
Authority for hire, fire, performance appraisal, and pay review decisions.
Regularly interacts with executives of major customers.
Expected to be primary mentor for others on staff and is a role model for rest of team.
Ability to provide communication on issues or complex information to a wide audience based on knowledge.
Participates as a senior member in strategic planning and direction.
Typically requires twenty plus years related applications development experience with at least six years leadership responsibility for large applications development functions.
General Duties & Responsibilities
Plays a strategic role in the technical roadmap definition of products
Manages the execution of the software development lifecycle including testing, implementation, and auditing
Resolves critical issues and contributes to the business unit / area development.
Manages work efforts of managers / supervisors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals and pay reviews.
Identifies and allocates technical resources, e.g., programmers, business analysts to client projects within Development.
Includes a mix of FTEs assigned to the development organization and allocated resources from other lines of business.
Forecasts resource needs based on an analysis of both portfolio and projected client spend.
Maximizes both utilization and profitability of assigned team of resources’ billable time.
Ensures base applications meet appropriate quality standards.
Adheres to the departmental application development and client delivery process standards.
Provides input on technical product direction to product managers.
Coordinates with industry compliance consultants and product managers to verify applications meet regulatory compliance.
Ensures proper application of technology.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science
General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of FIS products and services a plus
Lead multiple agile teams across multiple products, knowledge of scaled agile framework (SAFe) a plus
Skill in project management, organization, communications, analytical and people skills
Skill in leading, supervising and managing effectively under pressure
Ability to be comfortable interacting with executive level clients
Ability to analyze client's business needs and determine related information services support
Ability to maintain positive working relationship with client
Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and problem areas
Ability to delegate projects to qualified subordinates as appropriate
Ability to lead, direct and manage effectively
