The Portfolio Delivery Manager is accountable for overseeing and managing the project portfolio for Mobile Experience & Messaging.
This is an essential role which helps the Mobile Experience & Messaging function deliver significant value to its business customers.
It includes governance of the portfolio financials, managing significant RAID items, facilitating portfolio planning and providing leadership to the pool of PMs.
The Portfolio Delivery Manager reports to the function’s leader.
Essential Functions of the Job :
Specifically, the Portfolio Delivery Manager is responsible for :
Leading a team of geographically dispersed PMs to deliver IT projects on time and within budget for Mobile Experience & Messaging.
Support the Mobile Experience & Messaging leader in achieving the strategic outcome of the function through delivery of projects.
Managing the project pipeline to ensure appropriate PM assignments Business Case creation etc
Facilitating the process of resource & cost estimates, project initiation, PCRs etc.
Coordination of yearly investment planning across service owners in the portfolio.
Coordination of separately funded business cases and pipeline planning.
Financial management and reporting on budget, actuals, run rate and other financial KPIs.
Overseeing vendors who deliver projects or project deliverables.
Assisting PMs with complex delivery areas (vendors, workshops, significant RAID items, methodologies etc)
Analytical / Decision Making Responsibilities :
Identify, manage and resolve complex delivery related issues
Manage, negotiate and resolve project risks effectively
Able to work in a matrix environment, working closely with project sponsors, PMs and the Mobile Experience & Messaging leader to oversee the portfolio.
Leader and team player sets example for project managers, business analysts and others to follow
Create an open, honest, accountable and collaborative team environment
Knowledge and Skills Requirements :
Proven track record of delivering a collection of $50K to $2M projects for a portfolio size of $5M
10+ years of business development, project delivery and client relationship management in a technology environment
Good business acumen and ability to negotiate with business partners
Able to put user experience central, as a key success criteria of project delivery
Strong customer orientation and able to manage customer expectations
Good executive presence, including communication and presentation skills
Good financial and people leadership skills
Initiates, builds and maintains productive customer relationships
