As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for following activities :

1. Technical contribution

Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform engineering assignments. Provide technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities.

2. Sales Support

Prepares project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables. Assists in preparing proposal / presentation of engineering projects / programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).

3. Contract management

Support Contract Managers in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc.). Provides quality solutions as per customer requirements and delivers within budget and contract.

Ensures adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks.

4. Planning and control

Create work plans and cost estimates for work in own area of responsibility and proactively manage this work to deliver the agreed program on time, on quality and at the targeted cost.

Improves effectiveness of work plan in collaboration with other functions.

5. Risk and opportunity management

Ensure completion of risk and opportunity assessments and the implementation of resulting actions for own projects. Report early any contract / quality / program / cost issues to management.

6. Customer

Assists customers on technical issues, interacts with official contacts, contractors and other staff within his / her scope of deliverables.

Assist communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.

7. Supply chain management

Collaborate with the Supply Chain function to ensure that the technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed with potential suppliers.

Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposals. Accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services.

8. Processes and tools

Use standard processes and tools applicable to own area.

Requirements :

Graduate in Electrical / Electronic Engineering with minimum of 5+ years of experience in Industrial / Utility Automation with focus on project execution and efficiency improvements will be an ideal fit.

Should have the following skills and knowledge :

  • Experience with the ABB 800xA / MicroSCADA system and ABB PMS Library.
  • Good Knowledge of IEC 61850 and other communication protocols like IEC104, IEC101, IEC103 etc.
  • Experience with the following Engineering tools :
  • oMicrosoft Visio

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of managing successful inter- and intracompany cooperation.
  • Good spoken and written English language skills.
  • Flexible and Ability to travel when required.
