    We work with clients over the lifecycle their investments, advising on risks and insurance matters from to acquisition to exit, including placing portfolio level insurance solutions.

    Our global practice consists of more than 150 professionals based worldwide. The Transactional Risk (TR) team sits within the PEMA Practice and has a long-

    standing history of supporting private equity funds, corporates and law firms participating in M&A processes across the globe.

    We provide bespoke insurance solutions, such as warranty and indemnity insurance, to facilitate and enhance transactions.

    These solutions may be used by sellers to obtain a clean exit, or strategically by buyers to address transaction issues and enhance their bid.

    About the role Marsh, a global leader in insurance broking and risk management is seeking to appoint a Senior Transactional Risk Broker for the Pacific region to join our Private Equity and M&A Services (PEMA) function.

    As a TR Broker, you will be working with clients and their legal representatives to advise on incorporating transactional risk products into a transaction process to enable deal parties to meet their commercial objectives, whilst continuing to affirm Marsh as the leading provider of transactional risk insurance products in Australia and New Zealand. Key Responsibilities :

  • Build and maintain relationships with the M&A community, including financial sponsors, corporates, law firms and other advisors
  • Seek and build strong relationships at client’s executive and operational levels and communicate the client’s strategy across personal Marsh resources
  • In a lead role, consult, advise and broke and Transactional Risk solutions
  • Undertake in-depth analysis on each client transaction to understand all potential risks associated with the deal and advise on possible M&A insurance solutions
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on how M&A insurance products can be introduced to a transaction process enabling them to achieve their objectives
  • Manage and take ownership of the policy and coverage negotiation process to develop enhanced and bespoke policy wordings to ensure the client’s commercial objectives are achieved
  • Thought leader and ambassador for Marsh, evidenced by the creating of thought papers and by hosting / chairing events
  • Network with various divisions within Marsh and external business networks to stay informed of market developments and therefore provide recommendations and advice to the client on placement strategy, market conditions and the recommended insurance programme and including, where appropriate, presentations to the client
  • Qualifications

    Skills and experience required :

  • Prior legal, M&A or insurance industry experience with a top tier Australian or international law firm minimum 6 years;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Law or Commerce or related field
  • Experience advising insurers or clients with respect to warranty and indemnity insurance highly beneficial
  • Established relationships with the Australian / NZ legal, financial and private equity community
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Strong data analysis and computing skills
  • Ability to work in a high paced dynamic work environment
