As in-house Managing Editor for Wiley’s open access journal, Cancer Medicine you will be part of a global editorial team responsible for steering the scientific, operational and strategic delivery of the journal.
You will collaborate with the Editor in Chief and existing Editorial team to ensure an exceptional publishing service for authors and grow and develop quality publications in the journal, through commissioning and customer-
facing activities. A PhD in cancer biology, clinical genetics, oncology or related field is essential for this role because you will assess submitted research papers on scientific and technical merit.
In addition, you will select and invite referees, evaluate reviewer reports and recommend a publishing decision to the journal Editor.
You will interact with academics at the most prestigious research institutions, travel to conferences keep up to date with research developments, and commission on behalf of the journal.
As a Managing Editor, you may / will be asked to help facilitate the evaluation of rejected manuscripts that have been referred by another journal or refer rejected articles based on your own review of the scope.
Your role will be to optimize these referral networks and ensure a fast and efficient author service. You will be part of a cancer-
focused subject team dedicated to improving the competitive position of Wiley’s oncology program and contributing to increased recognition and value of Wiley’s product and service offerings in the community.
Collaborates with editorial, sales and marketing teams to drive India business.
